J. D. Hellen

J. D. Hellen writes weird fiction, usually with characters you love to hate. Her work is influenced by the storytelling of Stephen King, Charles Beaumont, Richard Matheson, Carmen Maria Machado, and Megan Milks, among others. To Hellen, a good story makes the reader (at least) a little uncomfortable.

Her published short fiction can be found in Trash Cat Lit; The Good Life Review; The Horror is Us, an anthology by Mason Jar Press; the Timberline Review; and Door Is a Jar Magazine. She is currently working on a short story collection that she aims to query in the near future.

When she’s not reading, writing, or thinking about stories, you can find Hellen taking photos of her cats, brewing tea, criticizing AI slop, or sweating on a spin bike.
